Nadezhda Todorovska

A graduated dental medicine at the Medical University – Sofia. Later she obtains a master degree in “Insurance and Social Activities” at Dimitar A. Tsenov Academy of Economics, followed by a doctorate degree in “Finance, Money Circulation, Credit and Insurance” at the same Academy.

Dr. Todorovska has been a Deputy Director-General at the Bulgarian Red Cross (BRC) since 2005 and is responsible for social and health policy of the organisation.

She is a member of various national councils active in the areas of social and health policy fields, as well as related to refugee, migrant and asylum seekers matters. Dr. Todorovska has been a representative of the BRC in numerous international forums in Europe, the USA and Australia.

Dr. Todorovska has been leading various international innovative projects for Bulgaria, as a result of which the profession of paramedic and home care services for the elderly are permanently established in the country.

For her humanitarian and innovative activities for the benefit of different vulnerable groups, Dr Todorovska has been given numerous awards:

  • Meritorious Service Medal Bulgarian Red Cross – Golden – 2018;
  • Warm Heart – the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel and the Embassy of Israel in Bulgaria – 2015;
  • Award of Merit for Contribution to Nursing Education from the Bulgarian Association of Health Care
  • Professionals – 2009, etc.

As an admirer of music as a universal language through which people may discover the beauty in life, since 2021, Dr. Todorovska has organized several charity events “Dream Night Sofia” for young people in support of various humanitarian causes. Directly related to music was the 2022 “Dream Night Sofia” charity event in support of young musicians from the National Academy of Music “Prof. Pancho Vladigerov”.

Dr. Todorovska is a founder and director of the Ventsislav Yankoff Foundation.
